When the warmer weather comes around, I like to change up some of my home decor and home furnishings. I do this to accomadate the changing seasons. It also keeps things fresh and new. Since I live in Minnesota and spend eight months out of the year in a winter jacket and snow boots, when Spring comes around I really cherish it.
During the winter, I keep a very warm feather down comforter on my bed covered with a duvet cover that has warm, red tones in it. It keeps my bedroom both looking and feeling warm. In the Springtime, I like to change it out and put my down comforter away in a closet and bring something more fitting to the season.
To each their own, but this bedding set still matched my decor in the bedroom but lightens things up a bit. This is a great site that has a ton of bedding of you’re looking to change up your bedding with the season like I do!

I’m always trying to make my entryway look as nice as possible. It’s the first thing that people see when they walk into the house and I believe that an entryway or foyer sets the “tone” for the rest of the home. I like to implement storage and organization into the entryway as well, since it is a useful space. It is our first stop as we enter the house and the last stop as we leave the house.

I’m writing today to share a very easy, DIY, cheap project. I love vases but it’s hard to come by them in the right color to match my decor. Usually, they are clear or come in a different color that doesn’t match my home decor. Today I’m sharing how to make painted vases just like the ones pictured above.
All you need is a clear vase (or a few–they can be found at the dollar store), PermEnamel paint, PermEnamel surface conditioner, a paint brush, and a mixing bowl.
Start by cleaning the vases with hot, soapy water. When they are completely dry, pour the surface conditioner inside the vase and cover the inside surface with it. Pour out any excess and let it completely dry. Mix the color of PermEnamel paints that you want in the mixing bowl and cover the inside of the glass vase with it using your paintbrush. Once you are finished, put the vase upside down on a paper towel so that the excess paint can come out. If you like a thicker paint look, only leave it upside down on the paper towel for a few minutes. You can use the brush again to even it out once the drips have come out onto the paper towel. Let it dry over night and you will wake up to a beautiful new vase!

What is a man cave exactly? It’s a dedicated area of the house (this could be the basement, garage, shed, etc) and is a place where a man can be alone or socialize with his friends. There are some essential things that every man cave should have. If you’re looking to help your man design his cave, or wanting to spruce it up a bit, here are some ideas!
1. A large TV. Every man cave should have a TV for the guys to watch the game on. If possible, this TV should be unnecessarily large and of course, in high definition.
2. A stocked refrigerator. This should be full of beer that’s always cold.
3. Some sort of game. This could be a pool table, dart board, poker table, foosball table, or anything of the like. This provides fun competition for the guys.
4. Signs. This could be signs of his favorite sports team or anything else that interests him (cars, motorcycles, etc).

Right now, I have my purses and bags in a laundry basket in my closet. There is just really no convenient place to put them. I can never find the one I want and they get smashed and wrinkled. I found this great DIY way to display and hang your purses and bags. All you need is a 2 x 4 board of your chosen length, drawer knobs, and paint. the drawer knobs can be chosen to match your home decor, your purses, or just random favorites you may find. I’ve seen them before at Michaels craft store. The board can be painted whichever color you choose (that’s what so great about this project–you can get creative with it!) After it’s dry, screw the knobs in (I would suggest at least 6 inches apart from one another) and let your purses hang!

It’s just as much fun to decorate outdoors as it is to decorate indoors. Because I live in Minnesota, my patio seems to be covered in snow for most of the year. When Spring comes around, I cherish the opportunity to spend time outside in the sun and grasp the opportunity to decorate my patio and make it look as nice as possible. I like to add or change something every year.

I know how important it is to have a workspace that is designed around the needs of the individual using it. A workspace is meant for..well, work. A person is most efficient and gets the most done with they are in a space that they feel comfortable working in. I have a few tips to share with you when designing your workspace whether it’s in a home office or at work.
1. My best advice is to keep in simple. I’m all about decoration, but a person can’t be efficient when they are distracted. It’s easy to get distracted with too many things on the wall and too much clutter on shelves, etc.
2. Get furniture that best fits your needs. Do you work best at a smaller desk? Or do you need a lot of space and would rather have a table in your workspace?
3. Use energizing colors. I feel most energized surrounded by coral tones and turquoise tones. I personally would not get much done in a room that is painted with calming blue tones and grey. It would make me unproductive and sleepy!
4. ORGANIZATION. Keep things organized and implement ways to do so. This would include filing cabinets, cork boards, post-its, bookshelves, and storage racks. Nothing slows down a productive person more than an unorganized room.
5. Make it YOU. If you are more productive with soft music playing in the background, pick up an iPod deck and make a playlist. If you are more productive in natural light, put your workspace near a window. The best thing about your own workspace is having the ability to customize it around your needs!
